Item 1 I will and desire that my old negroe woman Jinny and also my negroe girl Marriah, under the advice and direction of my son William, live with such of my children as Jenny may desire. Jenny to take with her and keep at her own use, all the bedding, cooking utensils and other articles that she may claim and own at my death, and to be comfortably maintained for as long as she may live for which purpose Mariah is to stay with her and attend to her -- after Jennys death Mariah is to belong to the person with whom she and Jenny may have lived -- if Mariah should die before Jenny, the person who may take them under this will, is nevertheless at his or her own expense to take care of Jenny as long as she lives-- If Jenny dies before I do, Mariah is to be disposed of as the remainder of my estate hereinafter directed but if she outlives me it is my express desire that she be well taken care of, and that the person who takes her, is to take such care of her, or to forfeit all r! ight to Mariah. Item 2 I will and desire that all the remainder of my estate be equally divided amongst my children William Wright, James L. Wright, Nancy McKlwee, Eliza McGowan, Catherine McGowan and the children of my deceased daughter Mary Robinson, my said grandchildren to take amongst them, a share equal to what each of my sons and daughters may receive. In making said division I desire that nothing be sold, but wish that my negroe girl Ann be taken by my son James L. Wright at appraisement and so accounted for by him in the division, if at the time of my death she may have a husband at the same James L.Wright-- otherwise that she may be taken at her appraised value by such of my children as she may choose to live with -- the balance of the property notes etc. to be divided by my executor amongst the above persons named, or if that should be impracticable, then by five persons to be selected by my executoe where appraisement and divisions shall be final and conclusive -- all however to! be made equal in amount. Item 3 Such debts as I may owe at my death, my funeral expenses etc. are to be paid out of any money I may have on hands or such as may be owing me. Both are buried in Bethany ARP Cemetery. William and his brother James were owners of Wrights Ferry that crossed the Catawba River. William and James were both quite wealthy. Known Children.
