Given name: Joseph Cornelius We are guessing that the informant for the census possibly said "Joe C" which enumerator heard as "Josie", therefore a daughter "Josie" was recorded. Other things you might consider: 1) How clear was the image? Some images are so faint, reading is difficult. 2) Was there a serious "bleed through" from another page? If the information in your post was all I had, I would rely more on your "other indications" (I have also found that information from New York State is harder to find than from other states.)
