I really don't know; it's certainly possible. Here's all I have found about John Robert Wright's father, John Patton Wright: Mary Lockhart and John Patton Wright lived at Lockhart, Texas, until 1868when they moved to live on the 1050 acre tract which Mary inheirted asher share of her father's estate. The land was located in the Prices'Creek area of DeWitt County-later became Thomaston Community. Plum Creek Almanac, Vol 9., No. 1, pg. 49 "Friday, June 18, 1897 Mr. John Patton Wright, brother of Mrs. J.M.Jolley, Sr., died at his home near Cuero on the 12th. He was born in Miss. on October 29, 1829, and came to Texas in the winter of 1853. Hemarried on June 7, 1859, to Mary M. Lockhart, who died Febuary 16, 1875,he again married married September 25, 1877, to Margaret Callahan. By hisfirst marriage there were seven children born, five of whom are living.By the second marriage two children were born, both are alive. He was converted in the spring of 1861 and baptized by the Rev. L.S. Coxin the Baptist church of Lockhart. He moved to DeWitt Co. in the summerof 1865, settling at Thomaston where he lived until the last two yearswhen he lived in Cuero. He moved back to the old home, where. on the 12thof June at 11:45 a.m., 1897, he died." The key bit of information in that is "born in Mississippi." So, were any of your NA Wrights in or near MS in 1829? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
