Dear Geni Wright Cuz ~ I've been getting those unsubscribe-only emails all day. I delete them because I don't wanna unsubscribe. I still have hope that someday, someone will post information about my Wright ancestors. George B Wright, 1824-1863, born somewhere in PA, died in Greene County. Known to have farmed in Washington Twp., Greene County, PA, prior to his election as Sheriff of Greene County 1858-1861. His parents remain unknown, although there is evidence that he had a brother, William M, and sisters, Elsey and Martha. We don't even know where George the Sheriff was buried. I can find no record of his having served in the Civil War. George married Lucinda Booher of Ryerson's Station, Richhill Twp., Greene County, PA in 1848 and had 6 children who survived him: Elizabeth, Rachel, Emma Jane, Andrew Jackson, Nancy Ann and George "Booher" Wright. Lucinda married her second husband, Stephen White in 1865, and had four more children: Lucinda, John Darling, Joseph and Montezuma (poor soul!). We do know where Lucinda and Stephen White are buried. I have looked everywhere on-line and have no way to get to Greene County in person. People who have the Cornerstone Genealogy Society publications of cemetery data and/or access to the newspaper records have found nothing. Does anyone have any information in regard to the parentage of George B Wright, late Sheriff of Greene County, PA?
