Wright that you asked about. 1914 (year of death) John W. Wright of Appomattox County (place of death) was a son of William Wesley Wright and Susan F. (possibly Turner) Wright. The 1860 Census for Appomattox County, Virginia, listed John W. Wright in the William W. Wright household and his age as 10 and born in Virginia, indicating a date of birth in about 1850. The marriage record of John W. Wright and Delia F. Layne was dated on December 13, 1876, at Campbell County, Virginia: "Marriage License. Virginia, Campbell County to-wit: To Any Person Licensed To Celebrate Marriages: You are hereby authorized to join together in the Holy State of Matrimony, according to the rites and ceremonies of your Church, or religious denomination, and the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, John Wright and Delia F. Undertaker Miss Emma Smith Address Appomattox, Va" Although his age is incorrectly listed, the identification of his father as William Wright and his occupation as mail carrier seems to confirm that this was John W. Wright, the son of William Wesley Wright. In her email dated January 21, 1999, Cathy Day stated that John W. Wright married first Perdelia Layne and married second Victoria Smith on August 5, 1906.
