My gg grandparents were James Wright b. 1804 in Hillsborough, Co. Down, Ireland, parents: Isaac Wright and Mary Hilpot, and Elizabeth Mary Graham, b.1809 in either Co. Down or Co. Antrim to John Graham and Margaret Mcgregor. Isaac Wright's father was Robert Wright, who died in Clogher in 1819 and was buried in Annahilt, Co. Down, Ireland. Both Isaac Wright, d. 1823 and Mary (Hilpot) Wright, d.1848 were also buried in Annahilt, Co. Down. His (I presume) brother was Rev. William Wright, who was the minister of Annahilt Presbyterian Church at that time, d.1844, and his wife, Agnes, d. 1851 were also buried there. Isaac Wright and Mary (Hilpot) Wright's children, all born in Co. Down, were: William b. 1796 Robert b. 1789 Isaac b. 1800 Mary Jane b. 1802 James b. 1804 (my gg grandfather) John b. 1806 Samuel b. 1807 Matthew b. 1809 David b. 1813 James, Samuel, Matthew and David all emigrated to Carroll Co. Ohio Isaac died young. I have very limited information on the other children. One of them was thought to have emigrated to Canada. My gg grandmother, Elizabeth Mary (Graham) Wright's (aka. Betty) parents, John Graham, b. 1877, Derryaghy Parish, Co. Antrim, Ireland, d. 1841, Co. Antrim and Margaret McGregor, b. 1780 in Scotland, d. 1838 Co. Antrim, m. 1803, Boardmills, Co. Down, Ireland had 8 children, all born in Co. Antrim except possibly Elizabeth Mary. Hugh b.1804 Nancy Anne b.1805 Elizabeth Mary b.1809- my gg grandmother Jane b.1810 John b.1811 James b.1816 Margaret b. aft 1817 William b.1819, d. 1879, White Mountain, Killuleagh, Co. Antrim, Ireland Both Elizabeth Mary and James emigrated to Carroll Co. Ohio Can you find a connection with either your Grahams or Wrights? I realize that both Wright and Graham are very common surnames. I also have another Graham connection. My gg grandfather was Robert Graham, b. 1807 in Pennsylvania. His wife's name was Ann S., b. abt. 1810 in Pennsylvania. They first show up in the 1840 census in Bath, Summit Co., Ohio. In the 1850 census they are in Northfield, Summit Co., Ohio. with the following children: Eleanor M. b. 1836 (my ggrandmother) Elizabeth b. abt 1837 John b. abt. 1839 Margaret J. b. 1842 James P. b. abt. 1844 In 1860 census, Robert is in Warren Co., Iowa, with Eleanor M., Margaret, and James P. I have no further information about Robert's wife Ann or his children, Elizabeth and John. Ann's last name may have been Pollock. There is some discrepancy about the place of Eleanor's birth, Pennsylvania or Ohio. I think probably Pennsylvania. The other children were all listed as Ohio in the census. Is there any possible connection with your Pennsylvania Grahams? Carol Converse Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
