Author: ravenwind27 Surnames: Wright Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.wright/6416.1.1.1.1.1.3.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Mike,Thank You,and perhaps when we get thru all the stuff she left Her Son,we can share some things with extended Family.Katharine Wright Chaffee,had married into a Good Family too,I dont know if anyone has ever herd of The Chaffee Labor Temple,but thats the Family she married into,Her husband Edward Dugald Chaffee was a Minister all over the place as was his Father and Grandfather,Mr.Chaffee,s paperwork can be found in Syracuse University archives..Katharine was active in The Torrey Pines park in California,and she was a Social worker,whom helped many,from Syracuse NY,to California,She always was in a society in California, Growing Vegetables in California,she was 85 and still very active.She died at Home while getting ready to go on her weekly hikes into the mountain,s,with her Friend, The Friends she left behind were enormouse group.When she was nine years old her Mother Irene May was killed in a automobile accident,and Katharine and Her Brother Wilbur survived the accide! nt,her Father,Herbert Wright, sent her,and her Brother Wilbur, to live with her Mothers Family,which were very well known,and her Grandmother was around to witness the Osage Indian treaty being signed.Her Brother went on to be a Physic,s Profesior at Colorado College in Colorado Springs,He married a Priscilla Sterns,and they had two children Loren Wright and Merideth Wright,Meridith died last year,her Mother Priscilla died the year before,They were 59 original Wrights left in 2003,now Three have died,and there is only 56 Now.Katharine was a person,whom could have been dirt poor and lived Happily,Her richness was from her inner self,she over came so much and at such a young age,She will live on thru her Children and Grandchildren,and in OUR Hearts forever,she taught us that MOney has no use unless its used for helping others.Perhaps in Time we will post pictures of The 2003 Wright Brother,s Centennial in KIll Devil Hills NC,but all Family Pictures will be with held due to Pr! ivacy Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
