His widow filed a petition for a land grant in Canada, based upon his supposed loyalist service, but this was rejected as being filed too late. The merits of her case were never even examined. There is no record of his joing any Loyalist unit, he does not appear on any British rolls. One of Captain Simeon Wright's sons DID become a Loyalist toward the very end of the war.
