I guess I should have mentioned the census which I had found over three years ago. On 26 Feb 2005, I wrote to Susan (2C2R): "...I found a grant for James H Wright. Because of the way names seem to keep repeating in my family, I thought this might be my grandfather. So I ordered the file from NARA. However, the homesteader turned out to be too old for my grandfather, but may be the J H Wright listed as head of the house in the 1870 census. However, this household is intriguing because a son is the right age to be my grandfather..." We had already established our relationship through my grandmother, Sarah Ellen (mentioned below). On 28 Feb, Susan replied: "This is probably the right family. They are living in the same township as A.H. (Alfred H.) Goza in 1870. As you know, Sara Ellen was 3 years old and listed as his daughter. They are living in Township 9, Range 8. J.H. Wright is in Township 9, Range 7. Looks like you have found your grandfather's family..." We still don't know if "Next Door George", age 66 is father to J H. But I do have George, Carolyn and Samantha as an unconnected family of three in my database; so connecting them would be a very simple step by adding parents to J H and using the "Select EXISTING Person" button. (That's the RootsMagic program.) For another surname, Sarah Ellen's mother was Nancy Jane Hale, b. 1832 VA; m. 1849 AL. Mildred, what is your connection to the Wright's? Again, thanks for the response. Glenn Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
