I have not been able to get beyond my GGF, J H Wright. 1870 U.S. census, Cherokee County, Alabama, population schedule, Twp 9, Range 7, Sand Rock post office Page 1, Lines 1-6 Dwelling 1, Family 1: Wright, J H, 35, M, W, Black Smith, 500, 300, SC ---- Lucinda, 30, F, W, House Keeper, Ala ---- Zylphia E, 12, F, W, Ala ---- James H, 9, M, W, Ala [(my GF), James Hamilton who died in 1903. I don't know any more about the other siblings. Just FYI, I have a cousin, also James Hamilton Wright (1921-1952, Los Angeles County.)] ---- George, 4, M, W, Ala ---- Lucinda A, 2, F, W, Ala In same building: Dwelling 1, Family 2: (Lines 7-9) Wright, George, 66, M, W, Black Smith, -, 300, SC ---- Caroline, 37, F, W, House Keeper, SC ---- Samantha, 16, F, W, Ala I'm guessing that George (age 66) is most likely father of J H (35). If so, this would move my "brick wall" one generation back. Glenn Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
