I'm a newcomer to this discussion, but have been intrigued by what has been discussed, and maybe I can provide some useful information. My wife is a descendant of Lieut. Abel Wright and Martha Kitcheral, via Ensign Abel Wright and Rebecca Terry, Ebenezer Wright and Elizabeth Newcomb, Ebenezer Wright and Mercy Leach, Abraham Wright and Sarah Babcock, Amos Wright and Mary Hodgson, James B. Wright and Sarah Davis, Frank Wright and Josie Rodman Moore, my wife's grandparents Frank Ralph Wright and Agnes Janet Thomson, and her mother Janet Elizabeth Wright. I understand the Y-DNA testing program requires male descendants. Well, there are at least five living candidate relatives of my wife who would qualify: one uncle with a son (a cousin), and three male cousins, sons of deceased uncles. There are also male children of the cousins. So, if I could be informed as to what the program entails and what costs might be expected, I would be pleased to approach these people to ascertain if they would be interested in participating. A question I have: would the DNA from this Wright descendancy help identify Abel's parents? From all the opinions and conjecture I have studied I have concluded that Abel's parents were most likely Edward Wright and Agnes Keale, with Edward being a son of John Wright and Bennett Greene. It would be nice if DNA could support this. An aside that might be of interest to anyone who is a descendant of Ebenezer Wright and Elizabeth Newcomb mentioned above: you are related to George W.
