I have to admit that I am one of those 'grammar' snobs who take grammar and spelling seriously when reading and/or answering queries. Without spell check to catch my senior moments, I rarely look very closely at spelling, except for basic words, and even senior moments are no excuse for those. I too have corresponded with Mr. Grant, and he has tried to assist me in finding my William Wright: Rev. Soldier d. Clarke Co. Nov 1821, Ga. married Mary Ayers b. 14 Jan 1761 ? d. 7 Jun 1830 Clarke Co., Ga., daughter of Thomas Ayers. While I have separated the two men named William Wright who died about the same time (both Rev. soldiers) in Clarke Co., Ga., with so little information, this has been a brick wall for a long time. Better than I have tried to find his parents, where and when he was born, although I believe he was born in Va. based on the answers his children give on census. I hold nothing but the highest regard for Mr. Grant's work, and anyone who does not believe in DNA has their head in the sand! Yes, DNA had changed the family trees of many, including two of my lines, but the truth is the truth, and the most careful research work cannot change this fact. Even though there were a great deal of widows marrying widowers, orphans bonded to a male mentor, and even families taking in children of deceased friends, neighbors, or relatives this is NOT the bloodline of the child. In my case I believe that one of the above may be the case, however, this does not tell me the birth parents, and DNA has dispproved the male line relationshop. DNA is the future of genealogy, and even now The Mayflower Society is accepting DNA for membership! Soon, I suspect, other heritage societies will follow suit, and having the DNA of known male relatives is just smart. I am hoping that some day DNA will lead us to our William Wright's family. Until that day, thanks to all of your for your conscientious work. I do appreciate your efforts.
