I am a descendant of Richard Wright, Sr., by his son, Richard Wright, Jr. through his daughter, Mary Ann Wright VARKER. I know that Daniel Wright is definitely not his father, but have seen no discussion on William. I found this on ancestry.com at http://trees.ancestry.com/pt/person.aspx?tid=4964650&pid=-1454381730 belonging to the Jasper-Tucker-Rule-Campbell Tree (Owner: jasperfamily) and wonder if the information is correct on Richard Wright, Sr. before adding to my family database: Francis Wright Born: 1601 - Bolton On Swale, Yorkshire, Eng. The short answer is, no. In the Wright DNA project, there is one descendant of 1713 Francis Wright who relates to another descendant from a branch that remained in England. They are Haplogroup J2. I have a diagram at this link: http://www.wright-dna.org/dna/1540JohnWright.html The actual marker values can be seen at: http://www.wright-dna.org/dna/OtherResults.html None of the participants who thought they were descendants of 1730 John Wright match with those two above. They are Haplogroup R1b1c and are shown in this diagram: http://www.wright-dna.org/dna/1792JohnWright.html Their marker values are at: http://www.wright-dna.org/dna/R1b1Results.html And finally, none of either group above matches with descedants of 1784 Richard Sr. who are shown in this diagram: http://www.wright-dna.org/gifs/1784-85RichardWright.gif Their Haplogroup is also R1b1, but sufficiently different to from the group above to show they are not related within a genealogic timeframe. Their markers are also at: http://www.wright-dna.org/dna/R1b1Results.html This eliminates these theoretical parents of Richard Wright, Sr. Hope that helps.
