Maybe this will help understand some pick up pieces most of us have found and wondered if they fit some place. Before computers it was common to indent with a change of generations. Some even drew vertical line to keep siblings Identified.let me see if this will work as an example; 1father His wife 11 first child His wife Their children Child's spouse 12second child etc etc. Thus each indention. There are book on the various systems. I would guess from your example Gage should have followed Micajahi name, but might indicate raised by Gage. My Amos Wright in Randolph co Mo. born ca1831 is actually James md to Martha Aversson. There is an Amos in Gideon and Rebecca Pettit Wright Line. I have virtually no data. I had assumed that she might be a daughter of Richard and Cary. The paper lists Amos Wright (born Aug 19, 1845) under a line and a little lower than the other people on the list. After his name it says Cages Amos. >From information I got from Shirley Gragg, Cage was a nick-name for Micajah Wright (born Apr 15, 1820). So this Amos may be Micajah's son. Under Amos is listed Martha Jane born Jan 3, 1847 but the paper is torn so there is no last name and the paper does not say who her parents were (another child of Micajah Wright?).
