Members of DAR have taken time to assist me in determining which of my Patriot ancestors have been listed on approved member's applications in the past. Stop by The Headquarters if you're visiting the monuments in Washington D.C., it's walking distance from many of those, and the White House! My wife is compiling documents for her new member application, and has already received help from local members toward that goal. There's no comparison between a GEDCOM file listing ancestors, and offering valid proof (or three) that ties each generation of a surname on your family tree!
