Deaths . . . . Colo. George Wright brother to T. Wright 29th Nov.1850 of Essex County Va . . . ." In her letter dated August 14, 1991, Mrs. Dorothy Hankins enclosed a copy of genealogical notes by Mrs. Linnie Wright Barnett which stated that Essex County, Virginia, Court Order Book 41/370 dated in May 1814 listed the following entry: "George Wright, son of Thomas Wright Sen'r, is recommended to the Governor and Council to be commissioned Lieutenant in Capt Carter M. Braxton's Company in the room of Alexander S Boughton, resigned." The marriage record of George Wright and Susan F. Jones was dated on January 11, 1816, at Essex County, Virginia: "The Clerk of Essex County has my consent to issue License for my son George Wright to intermarry with Susan F. Jones daughter of Capt.
