Christian Weideman, 75 years old, for more than 40 years connected with the firm of William Wright & Co., as a designer, dies suddenly early Sunday morning at his home, 93 Erskine street, of heat disease. Mr. Weideman was in his usual health when he retired Saturday night but complained about 2:30 a. m. of being ill and later died. Mr. Weideman, along with work on other public buildings, superintended the decoration of the state capitol at Lansing about 20 years ago. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p. m. from the house and burial will be private. Mr. Weideman was born in Neustadt, Germany, in 1837, and came to Detroit about 45 years ago. His first employment in Detroit was with William Wright and he continued with him until his death. As the firm went through various changes in ownership, management and name, Mr. Weideman acquired a financial interest. He is survived by a widow and seven children, Oscar, Mathilde, assistant principal of the Detroit Normal School, Alma Caroline, Emma, Walter and Mrs. E. Von der Heide.
