    1. [WRIGHT] Thanks to Mike....again!
    2. Diane Ethridge
    3. Thanks, Mike, for the explanation on the different social standings back in the "olde" days. My Joanna Gilbert in Surry Co. VA who married Reuben Wright in 1798, Sussex Co. VA, was apparently from a family where the men carried the title, "Gent" & I wasn't quite sure as to what that signified. Also, I believe, maybe incorrectly, that might be a lead as to the standing of Reuben's Wright bunch since these folks didn't seem to marry outside of their family's social group without enduring severe consequences from the community. The "surety" for Reuben & Joanna (also called Anna on some records) was a Gray Barker who is a desc from the "Washington" Wright line. However, DNA testing shows that Reuben's Wrights didn't match that family but instead, was a close match with the Jarrett-Wright family of Lunenburg Co. VA. Also, Reuben & Johanna had a son named David Gerrard Wright so that is even more convincing that Lunenburg Co. is the place to concentrate the gen efforts. Gray Barker married Elizabeth Gilbert (dau of James Gilbert of Sussex Co) in 1785 so I am assuming that, rather than being related to Reuben, he was possibly an in-law of Joanna's. The main thing about my Wrights is that they all seemed to be devout members & workers in the early Methodist-Episcopal church in VA, Greene Co. OH & mine went on to Henry Co. IN. You, & also Bob Grant, of course, have been so much help to so many of us & we appreciate it. Thanks again, Diane Ethridge TX
