I have never thought of the name "Wright", as being dreaded. My name is Mary Virginia Wright. My Dad was, William Wesley Wright,Born on April 3, 1910;with a brother, named Frank W. Wright,Born in 1918;their Mom and my Grand- mother was Edna Virginia Crickenberger Wright,Born in 1890; their father and my Grandfather was Frank Wesley Wright, born in 1891.The only Birthplace that I have found is in Staunton,VA. There is a long line of Crickenbergers from my Grandmothers' family.My Dad was raised by 2 Crickenberger sisters, named Fannie and Nina, that lived in Staunton,VA. This is as far as I have gotten. Oh, and my Dad's brother, Frank W. Wright,married Minerva, and they had a Daughter, named Denise and a son named Charles, that live in Maryland. This is as far as I have gotten.If anyone can shed some light or relation to these facts, please contact me or let me know. Thank you very much. Mary, Your posting about Wrights and Crickenbergers caught my eye. My suspicion is that there are a limited number of Wright-Crickenberger/Crickenbarger marriages. I have two such listings. The first is for Susan A. Wright, daughter of 1877 Joseph Wright of Bedford County, VA, and Ann (Hill) Wright, to David S. Crickenbarger on Aug 12, 1857, at Bedford County, VA. That marriage record is set forth below. The second is for Betty Frances Wright, the daughter of 1860 (year of death) Lewis Wright of Lynchburg, VA, (place of death) and Elizabeth (Hill) Wright, to the same David Solomon Crickenbarger, but now a widower, on Feb 24, 1875, in Lynchburg. That marriage record is also set forth below. I believe, but cannot document as yet, that 1877 Joseph and 1860 Lewis were brothers and sons of William Wright, Sr. (Bedford County, VA).
