Found the Joseph Wright family in the 1840 census, too. Still in Washington, Hocking County, OH. Look for 7, 2, 9, 9 in the search index. That is 7 under age 20, 2 older than 20 and 9 white individuals, and 9 total individuals. If you go for the 1830 census you'll be looking for a Joseph Wright family with 2 over 20 and one under 20 since Presley was not born yet at the time of the census. Brother Albert would have been only 1 year old and the only child. >From here the local histories are your best bet for further information. Land records there go back to 1818 and you might want to contact the Washington town clerk to see what the first town record books have on the Joseph Wright family. Good Luck, Mike Wright Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
