While I don't know much about their origins, certainly there is much written about two of their kids! Eldest son, Joseph Albert WRIGHT was born in Washington, PA April 17, 1810 while youngest son, George Grover WRIGHT was born March 24, 1820 in Bloomington (Monroe Co), IN. Both are alums of my alma mater, Indiana University and went on to law school in Rockville,IN. Joseph stayed in Indiana and served in its legislative body as well as a stint as Governor. He served a couple of stints representing Indiana as a US Senator and also served two stints as the US ambassador to Prussia. He died 1867 in Berlin and is buried in a NY city cemetery. George Grover Wright went on to law school then set up practice in Keosaugua, Iowa territory in about 1845. He later (1847) served as prosecuter for Van Buren Co., was a state senator (1849-1851), a justice of the Iowa Supreme Court (1854 - 1870), and helped found the Law School at the University of Iowa where he served on its faculty. In about 1865 he moved to Des Moine, IA to to continue his practice of law. He served in the US Senate from 1871 - 1877. He was the president of the American Bar Association 1887-1888, and also got into banking in Des Moine. He died there in 1896 and is buried there. Who his grandfathers were, I do not know. Looking for the family of my recently discovered 3xggrandmother Elizabeth WRIGHT, b Aug 1772 probably in Lower Dublin Twp, Philadelphia Co, PA. She married William ASHTON around 1790, and they lived their lives in Lower Dublin and Oxford Twp. After William's death in 1817, she married Jonathan WHITE in 1823; she died in 1843. I know there's a John WRIGHT family in Lower Dublin, but she doesn't appear to descend from them; there's also a Joseph WRIGHT who lived about 8 doors from her future husband in 1790, so I suspect that might be her family, but I can't find anything on them. Is anyone familiar with this line? Of course, I'm open to other families as well! I've recently been reviewing church records (Trinity Oxford; Pennepack), and either the family isn't listed, or the records are missing! Any help greatly appreciated.
