    3. Yes, I ordered the book on Rev A. B. Wright of TN but didn't see anything that looked like it could be connected to what little I know about my Reuben. Mine was b abt 1759 in VA & stays with the Wrights of Brunswick Co. Va, goes over to Greene Co. OH with them & then on to IN. There was another Reuben in that line though but he died young so it's hard to tell which is which. Lots of wonderful research has been done on the VA Wrights but none of it mentions my Reuben who, I would imagine, died in Wayne Co. IN between 1850-1860. The Gilberts were an influential family in that part of southeastern part of VA so it's surprising that no more info is available on them. 1. [WRIGHT] David G. Wright & wife, Sarah Nibarger or Neighbarger
    2. Diane Ethridge
    3. Looking for any info on the above couple. David was born abt 1800 in VA, lived & married Sarah Nibarger in Greene Co OH & moved to Hancock Co. IN. In the 1840 Hancock Co. IN census, he is living next door to Rev. Reuben Wright (M.E. minister) & Joanna (Gilbert) Wright who, I am assuming, are his parents. On the other side of David is the Thomas B.& Margaret (Wright) Miller family. Margaret was a dau of Reuben & Joanna Wright, who marr in 1798, Sussex Co. VA. I am the 3rd gr granddaughter of Rev. James & Lucinda (McComas) Wright, another son of Reuben & Joanna. James & Lucinda moved to Marion Co. IN after their marriage in 1830, Rush Co. IN. In abt 1840, they moved on to Jasper/Edgar Co. IL where James is said to have died in abt 1865. ANY help on this line will be appreciated. Diane Ethridge Conroe, TX deae@consolidated.net

    1. [WRIGHT] WRIGHT family of early Methodist-Episcopalians in Southeastern VA
    2. Diane Ethridge
    3. My Reuben Wright married Joanna Gilbert in 1798, Sussex Co. VA. They then moved on to Greene Co. OH & ended up in Hancock & Wayne Co. IN. Reuben was a farmer & minister & co-pastored a church in Knightstown, (Henry Co) IN. Their children (that I know of so far - but there are probably more) are: James - married Lucinda McComas in 1830 Rush Co. IN. Lucinda's bro-in-law, Samuel Barrett, was a co-pastor at the same church as Reuben. They are my 3rd gr grandparents. This couple lived in Marion Co. IN in 1836 & then on to Jasper/Edgar Co. IL in abt 1840 where James died in abt 1865. James was a circuit-rider minster for the M.E. church. David G. - married Sarah Nibarger/Neibarger in Greene Co. OH & they moved on to Hancock Co. IN where he died between 1850 & 1860. I'm assuming he was a son of Reuben & Joanna because he was living next door to them in the 1840 Hancock Co. census. On the other side of him were Margaret & Thomas Miller. Margaret - married Thos B. Miller & they lived their lives in Hancock Co. IN. I don't know if Reuben is from the prominent Wright family in Brunswick Co. VA area of if he was a relative who happened through, met Joanna & got married next door in Sussex Co. In fact, after years of searching, I don't know much of anything about this early Wright and/or Gilbert family. I think I, along with 2 cousins, are the only people doing any research at all on this couple/family. Reuben was born in VA & was 91 in the 1850 Wayne Co. IN census. Since Joanna Gilbert Wright was 71 in that same census, also born in VA, Reuben possibly could have had an earlier marriage & if so, the likelihood of other children is something to consider as well. At present a DNA test sample is being submitted that we hope will clear up this mystery of where this Reuben Wright came from. Any suggestions, clues or info will be appreciated. I have old photos & more info on descendants to share on the family. Thank you, Diane Ethridge Conroe, TX
