    1. [WRIGHT] Isaac Wright Jr.
    2. Wendy: I just posted my response to your rootsweb query on that message board: _http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.wright/14947.2/mb.ashx_ (http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.wright/14947.2/mb.ashx) As far as I know, no one from my Wright line ended up in Louisiana. This Isaac Wright Jr. was born between 1804 - 1808(?), probably in Adair Co. KY. So the time frame is close, but the location doesn't check out. Author: Megg14 Surnames: Wright, Ownby Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.wright/1529.1531.1535.2697.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have Isaac Wright Jr. as the 4th child of Isaac and Elizabeth Ownby Wright. The 3rd child was born Dec. 1803, and the 6th child born 1810. Between 1804 and 1810, were two sons, Isaac Jr. and William M. I include Isaac Jr. as a son because of the tax lists of Adair Co. KY. His name appears adjacent to the other Wright family names in 1833 (he didn't own property, just a horse). Also there is a probate record for him in Jasper Co. MO dated 9 Oct 1847, which includes the names of other Wright family members. I concluded that this Isaac Jr. belonged to this family. Most of them had gone to Jasper Co. MO in the early 1840s. His wife Mary Moore Wright then moved to Ohio with her children, Edwin and Martha. Does this link in with anything you have? 3. To all Wrights with linkage to Pennsylvania, North Carolina,Kentucky,Texas, Missouri, etc. I have at least three lines and all collateral to My LEE line. Some of it proved and a lot of questions. The largest of these is the Gideon and Hezekiah WRIGHT lines out of the Carolinas, pre Rev. war. Why are they considered Tory? And What damages beyond theft did the widows sue for.? Has any one sorted out the many Hezekiahs, Durlin, which I am told is a lineage surname Darling. Is there a proven tie to ENYART/D(variable spelling).? Where in the old country did these Wright emigrate.? Pennsylvania line does appear to be a German-Welch line. But the legal documents have a lot of unknowns James Wright and Margaret??? My Texas WRIGHTs left Missouri around 1870. and descendents now live near Dallas. I also have a book by Frank SLAVEN, Jr tracking a Dr. Thomas Jefferson Wright of the panhandle of Texas. They were from Missouri descendents of John and Eliza?Ann CULL?WRIGHT. I highly recommend "The Wright Brothers were There Too!" and a book "Frank Wright's My life as a Cowboy". both are in paperback and less than 200 pages. Slaven also compiled "William C. Moore: Good Guy or outlaw Bill". The counties of Hansford and Hutchinson, Texas and locations of the family are the end pieces. No index, yet. Bud.

    1. [WRIGHT] Looking for Dr.Robert or Richard Wright
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: mariahswind Surnames: Wright, Anderson, Love, Evans Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.wright/15261/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have little information on my mother in law's birth father. For years she only said he was a Dr. and his name was Robert or Richard Wright and that the relationship between her mother and him was brief with her resulting. Anyhow today she just told me he was an American serving as a Dr in the Military and this would have been late during WW II because she was born in Jul 44 in Cairns, Far North Queensland, Australia. If anyone has any ideas finding this man or his family (or just some information) I just would like to complete this line of our family tree. Kind regards, Shanan M. Anderson Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. If you would like to reply to them, please click on the Message Board URL link above and respond on the board.

    1. Re: [WRIGHT] Three brothers in Texas Panhandle--Wayne, Jess, Joe
    2. N. Lin
    3. The background is correct for the parents of Wayne, Jess, and Joe--father was Milton and their mother was Rosana/Roxane who? The family were in 1880 Caldwell Co., Texas; one or two of their older brothers were still there by 1900. This is the interesting topic--finding the cousins of the Wright brothers, Orville and Wilbur... especially since my g-aunt Lillie Wright claimed they were her father's second cousins. Since her grandparents, Griffin R. (should be Randle) Wright and Malinda B. C. Tucker Wright were in 1850 Lincoln Co., TN then later NW Arkansas, makes for a wild goose chase. In Lincoln Co., there was Sylvester H. Wright who wound up in 1860 Arkansas too; there was Joel Wright who wound up in 1860 Lawrence Co., Missouri, later in Arkansas during the Civil War, then died in Indiana. For Wayne, Jess and Joe Wright in 1900 Potter Co., Texas where some of their kids stayed and married, including Virgie who married into the pioneer Jameson family near Amarillo, another interesting angle is that Curt Wright, whose Wright family was also in 1800's Lincoln Co., TN, had a Robert Wright living in 1930's Amarillo. Curt lives around Oklahoma City. There are living Wright men from these lines. Now for a living Wright man from the line of Jacob Wright in early Lincoln Co., TN? Looks like an opportunity for DNA connecting or eliminating Wright lines. > From: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> To: WRIGHT-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Wed, 16 Jan 2008 22:19:27 +0000> Subject: Re: [WRIGHT] Three brothers in Texas Panhandle--Wayne, Jess, Joe> > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list.> > Author: jeffwright_1> Surnames: > Classification: queries> > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.wright/15260.1/mb.ashx> > Message Board Post:> > A quick look at the census records show that these boys had a father named Milton, which interestingly is the name of Orville and Wilbur's father. Both Miltons were born roughly the same time (1828 vs 1833), and both were born in Indiana. But there it falls apart. The grandfather of your three boys was Elias from Tennessee, whereas the grandfather of the Wright Brothers was Daniel, whose line go back to the New England area (CT). So, if they were cousins, it was more remote, and I don't see an obvious connection. I suspect many Wrights wish they were related to the famous pair. The Y-DNA of the Wright Brothers line is known, so if a living male Wright descendant of Joseph, Jessee, or Wayne wishes to confirm a relationship, that is possible.> > Jeff> > ?? 1840 census Iowa Territory > Clinton << best match, but not exact w #/ages children> ancestry 7/12 > > Elias W.
