What you have is priceless information and I would gladly pay whatever you ask for a COPY of every bit of information you can provide! Richard, Jr. is direct my line and Mary Ann Wright is my GGM. It also confirmed once and for all what I suspected for some time - that Clayton was not the first child baorn to Richard and Caroline. In my research, I was missing 3 daughters - if Ruth's information was correct about her father having 12 children [including a set of twins by each family]. Please get in touch with me ASAP at [email protected] I would love to talk with you. This is absolutely the best news since finding Mary Ann was my GGM AND that she had family! I say "may be" because Wright is such a common name and there are many different lines. Julia and/or Dennis Gilmore in California 1900 Census 1910 Census 1920 Census If Julia and Dennis are your direct line ancestors, do you have any Wright or Gilmore male cousins who would be willing to do a DNA test? The cost is significant, but you can sign up, make payments, marking them with "For: Name" and "Test Kit #". Then when you have reached your goal, advise them that you have reached the payment for the 12-, 25- or 37 markers. (I think these are the correct numbers, but you get the idea.) The DNA team can advise you on which set to go for: it gets rather complicated depending on what your research goal is. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Try Randolph County Missouri. I will have to do some digging in my messy WRIGHT files. WRIGHTS also were in Linn and Howard and Henry county Missouri and they did go to Oregon the state along with REEVES family and LEE. I do think every county of Missouri had a Wright family. Many of those going west went right after the Civil war. A few before1860. Bud. . I have tried Washington, Oregon, Missouri, Indiana marriage records but no luck. It just seems really strange. The following was published in an Austin Texas newspaper, in 1954 [specific date unknown]. Twins, Now 77, Say "Hard Work is Secret" "Attributing their long life to hare work, a couple, who are probably Travis County's oldest twins, Samuel Lee Gallimore and Mrs. Katherine Gallimore North, celebrated their 77th birthday Friday with a family reunion at the home of Mrs. North's son, C. W. North, 4612 Milburn Lane. The twins were born Jan. 2, 1877, in Travis County near Oak Hill. Both have lived [in] the County throughout their lives. Although America's "good old days" were filled with work for many pioneers, the Gallimore twins had even more toil than their share. Their father, N. W. Gallimore, died when they were 9 months old. Support for the twins and their older brother, Jesse, became the task of their mother. As soon as the youngsters could toddle, they were going with her to the fields and helping her do the farming chores. Mr. Gallimore followed the farming profession until only a few years ago when he retired to city living. He now lives with his wife at 410 East Seventh Street. Mrs. North married a farmer and all his life she was at his side tilling Travis County's soil. W. T. North, her husband, died four years ago. The twins' mother, Mrs. N. M. Gallimore, died in 1930 at the age of 84. Mrs. North has five children, C. W. North, 4612 Milburn Lane; Paul North, Los Angeles, , Calif; Mrs. J. B. Deavers of Houston; Mrs. Edwin Carlson of McAllen; and Mrs. Clyde Burch, 305 West Mary. All attended the birthday celebration except Paul. Mrs. North also has 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Gallimore has one Foster daughter, Mrs. Florence McCoy, who lives in Austin. Both Mr. Gallimore and Mrs. North are in good health, and they have remained close, as is the usual custom of twins, throughout their lives. They visit each other often and check on each other by telephone several times each week." ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: A picture of Samuel and Katherine accompanied the article. A copy of the picture can be found on ancestry.com site "Related Families Family Tree". The individuals in the above article are the children of NELSON W. GALLIMORE, son of JESSE GALLIMORE and RUTH WRIGHT of Davidson County, North Carolina. They are the grandchildren of RICHARD WRIGHT, Jr. and CAROLINE KITTRELL of Davidson County, as well. Samuel Lee Gallimore passed away 12 June 1965, at age of 88. Katherine Gallimore North passed away 16 April 1976, at the age of 99. Shirley Varker Gragg - GGGrandaughter of Richard Wright and Caroline Kittrell.
