Wright who married Margaret Green. Margaret was the daughter of Wildridge Green and Deborah Todd. Margaret was born January 22, 1851 and died May 26, 1941. David and Margaret Wright had a son, George W. Wright; born January 22, 1885 and died July 10, 1964. His wife was Hannah (Lum) Wright, 1888 - 1965, she is buried in the Ogdensburg Cemetery in St. Lawrence Co., NY. She was also a member of the Methodist Church of that city. Can you please tell me if there's a connection for I'm working on this part of my family tree. Thank you. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Register: 4. Page: 16. Augusta County Marriages, 1748-1850, by John Vogt & T. William Kethley, Jr., Iberian Publishing Company, Athens, Georgia, 1986, listed the marriage of Joseph Wright & Polly Thompson on Jan 26, 1808, in Augusta County, VA. The 1810 Census for Augusta County, VA, listed two Joseph Wrights, one listed as Joseph Wright, Jr., and age 26 to 45, indicating a date of birth between 1765 and 1784, and the other age 45 , indicating a date of birth before 1765. The listing for Joseph Wright, Jr., also included 1 male, age 16 to 26, and 1 male, age 0-10, 1 female age 16-26, and 1 female, age 0-10. This would seem to fit appropriately the household on Joseph Wright who married Polly Thompson in 1808. The 1820 Census for Augusta County, VA, listed one Joseph Wright, Jr., with 2 males age 26-45, 1 male age 10-16, and 4 males age 0-10, 1 female age 26-45, 1 female age 10-16, and 2 females age 0-10. The 1830 Census for Augusta County, VA, listed one Joseph Wright with 1 male age 40-50, 3 males age 15-20, 1 male age 10-15, and 2 males age 0-5, 1 female age 40-50, 1 female age 15-20, 1 female age 10-15, 2 females age 5-10, and 2 females age 0-5. The 1840 Census for Augusta County, VA, did not list a Joseph Wright. You will definitely want to explore the Augusta County, VA, records for deeds and probate administrations for this line. By now, have you found that your John Richards is or is not the one who married Elizabeth Wright, daughter of Robert Wright, with a son John who died by the fall of a tree?? I see killed by a fall of a tree is noted on the 1860 Ticonderoga census where the boy was evidently living with his grandparents Robert & Jane Wright. You mentioned Elizabeth's obit (Ticonderoga Sentinel I've a print from)& this gives that they married at Johnsburg in 1830 & had 4 children (your post said only 3 ch). Elizabeth's Wright's birth is recorded in the United Presbyterian Church records of Putnam, Washington Co. NY as July 16, 1814 with Parents Robert Wright & Jane Cummings & also in these church records is her death as Jan. 28, 1899. Your post says of a relationship your John Richards Sr. had previously but you don't see how he could have married the above Elizabeth Wright, I don't see what the problem is, can you explain further? I am working on the Wrigh! t's (Robert Wright's sister was also named Elizabeth & she married James Crammond in England which is my direct line of descent).I don't have info on Elizabeth & John Richards(Sr.) daughter's husband Burleigh line but perhaps can add a bit on the Wright family. The birth record of John Wright, son of William F. and Sarah Cath. Wright, was dated on Feb 4, 1868, in Roanoke County, VA. The birth record of Warner Francis Wright, son of William F. and Sarah Cath. Wright, was dated on April 4, 1869, in Roanoke County, VA. As set forth previously, the 1870 Census for Roanoke County, VA, listed William Wright and Sarah C. Wright with a sons John M. Wright, age 2, and Warner F. Wright, age 1. As set forth previously, the 1880 Census for Pulaski County, VA, listed Wm. F. Wright and Sarah C. Wright with sons John M. Wright, age 11, and Frank Wright, age 9. The 1900 Census for Grayson County, Texas, listed Sarah C. Wright, born Sep 1844 in VA and a widow, with sons John M. Wright, born Jan 1868 in VA, and Warner F. Wright, born Apr 1869 in VA. This is clearly the family of William F. Wright and indicates his death before June 1900. Two grandsons are also listed and the oldest was born in Feb 1896, indicating the move of this part of the family to Texas before Feb 1896. The 1910 Census for Grayson County, Texas, listed Frank Wright, age 41 and born in VA, with mother Sara C. Wright and brother John M. Wright in the household. The 1920 Census for Grayson County, Texas, listed Frank Wright with brother John Wright, but did not list Sarah C. Wright, indicating that she probably died before 1920. Best wishes, Robert N. Wright and Sarah Catharine Wright, the parents of William Lewis Wright. I found no listing of a marriage of William F. Wright and Sarah Catharine _____ in Roanoke County, VA, in the early 1860's. The 1860 Census for Montgomery County, VA, listed a William F. Wright, age 23, in the Walter C. Deyerle household. Dyerle was listed as a distiller, as was William F. Wright in the 1866 birth record, so this is almost certainly your William F. Wright prior to his marriage to Sarah Catharine _____. The Montgomery County, VA, Marriage Records listed the following marriage of William F. Wright and Sarah C. Garrett: 1860/12/18 William F. Wright & Sarah C. Garrett Husb's Age: Wife's Age: 15 Husb's Cond: Single Wife's Cond: Single Husb Born: Augusta County Wife Born: Montgomery County Husb's Res: Montgomery County Wife's Res: Montgomery County Husb's Par: Jas. The names of Sarah Catharine (Garrett) Wright's parents need to be rechecked and may be mislisted as Wright rather than Garrett. Otherwise, this seems clearly the marriage of your William F. Wright and indicates he was the son of James A. Wright and Elizabeth Wright and born in Augusta County, VA, and based on the other records in about 1837 or 1838. I do not have a further tracing of James A. Wright in Augusta County, VA, and so you will want to search that county's records for further information on your line. Best wishes, Robert N. Try poking around the vital records on the state's website. http://www.wvculture.org/vrr/va_select.aspx I would also check with the Greenbrier Co library or a local genaology club.
