In the past there was a section (for research) that was available to members only, but that has changed. Some of the information about current members and their living ancestors is hidden as it always has been, but the lineage back to the patriot is shown starting with those who are deceased. Author: Tammy121558 Surnames: Wright Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.wright/16644/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello to all ancestors of Richard Wright and Hester Cooke. Lately, I have spent quite a bit of time perusing Parish records for christenings in England for the years of 1608 and also 1607 and 1609. I cannot find any record of a Richard Wright being christened in Wrington, Somerset, England. Wondering if other researchers have come across any such record? I have found 2 records of a Richard Wright christening in Milwich, Staffordshire, England on 23 Sept. 1607, Father name George; Mother name Ann. The other record is on 21 Feb., 1608 in Wallington, Hertfordshire, England. Both places when mapped seem quite far from Wrington. Has anyone else researched these 2 possibilities any furthur? Also, I did find a grave marked for a Wright at the All Saints Church in Wrington. If you google either the All Saints Church or the Village of Wrington websites, there is a grid layout of the graves in the cemetery. Has anyone investigated this angle yet to see if it is related to our Richard? Tammy Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Reuben is also my brick wall. There are so many Wrights that it is impossible for me to figure which one to follow. I believe he was in Williamson Co, Tn, with a brother Frederick, on the 1830 census. I believe he was connected to some of the other Wright's in Maury Co, Tn, as he is shown as bondsman on marriage records of, Daniel Wright & Milly Sloan, 1852, and Washington Wright & Sarah Ann Curry, in 1856. This makes me think there must be a connection somehow, I just can't find out how. Good luck Velma Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: rngrant Surnames: WRIGHT Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.wright/16620.10/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Dear lakesky2: Two more pieces of information have arrived. The Marriage Register for Pulaski County, VA, lists the marriage of W. L. Wright and F. H. Ellis on Sep 8, 1888, in Pulaski County. His parents are listed as M. F. & S. Wright. I am confident that the "M" is a misreading of a "W", which would identify your William Lewis Wright as the son of William Francis Wright and Sarah Catherine (Garnett) Wright. Although you will need to obtain a copy of the marriage license from the Circuit Court to confirm this misreading, this seems to complete the identification of William Lewis Wright's parents. In addition, the will of Joseph Wright dated May 30, 1826, and probated in February 1827 at Augusta County, VA, W.B. 15/424 listed a son Joseph Wright, among other children. So this is further confirmation of your line of descent from (1) 1826 Joseph Wright of Augusta County, VA, to (2) his son Joseph Wright (Augusta County) to (3) James A. Wright (Floyd County) to (3) William F. Wright to (4) 1937 William Lewis Wright of Mercer County, W VA, to (5) Richard Lewis Wright. Robert N.
