William Wright is a really common name, maybe adding a bit more detail. I am looking for children of Jimmy Wright and Tom Wright. There are Williams in the family but since they are all common names its hard to tell. Sophia Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. She was married to my great grandfather, James Bunyan Shelton. Her maiden name was Wright. They lived in Roaring Springs, Trigg County, Ky. Moved to Cairo, IL for a while where my grandfather, James Henry Shelton, remained, got married and had a family. However, Sarah must have returned to KY because at age 64 she was living in McCracken County, KY, according to the 1900 census. If anyone has information about her or where she is buried, let me know. Thanks. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Wife named Mary. "of Spennymoor" The information above was taken from a Memoriam my beloved Grandmother had framed. I know of no connection to anyone in the Wright Family on either side of the family. The ONLY information I can find about Spennymoor is that it is located in County Durham in England. My Grandmother lived in Cooper County, Missouri with connection to Morgan County, Ohio and Loudon County, Virginia. Her husband had connections to Polk Co., Missouri and McMinn, Wilson and Dekalb Counties in Tennessee. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I know there were two brothers, William H. born about 1826 and John N. born about 1831. John was in the Civil War and had a wife that died around the mid 1860's. After the war, John left New York and joined William in Hawai'i. I have very little information about the WRIGHT family prior to that. I would like to know more about John and William's ancestors, and if there were any other siblings. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. If your Wrights are Presbyterian, they are probably Lowland Scots; Anglican, English; Catholic, Irish (possibly Highland Scots or English); Quaker, English; Methodist, Welsh/English; Congregational, English. It works pretty well if you can trace your Wright heritage to the original immigrant to the U.S., especially if they came in the 16-19 centuries. People rarely crossed from one religious denomination to another during those times. National affiliations often determined one's religious affiliation. For example, I doubt that an Anglican Englishman would forsake his religious affiliation for Presbyterianism during the 18th cent. Religious bigotry tended to keep one "in his/her place." This is not a hard and fast rule, but a generality. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Annie was married to Frank A. Wright in Detroit on 5 June 1905. Annie's parents: Thomas Todd and Ella Jones or Ellen James. They show up together with a 2 year old daughter my wife's grandmother Mable in the 1910 detroit census. Frank died in 1912 so I am mainly looking for a possible second marriage for Annie, in which she could have used Todd or Wright as the name on her certificate.
