I have a question about the D-Day. My mom's cousin was wounded at about 9:00pm on June 6th. He was a strecher bearer with the Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Highlanders, RCIC. He died June 8th of his wounds and is buried in Beny-sur-Mer. In the regimental history it mentions the names of the men of the SD&G Highlanders who were wounded and died on June 6th. It doesn't mention Francis I. DEWAR being wounded. On June 8th it lists the names of the men who were killed & wounded. It lists that Francis DEWAR was killed along with some others. This is my question. If he was wounded June 6th would he have been evacuated to England? I have his service records along with a Field Medical Card that gives the date of June 6th as the date he was wounded. What would be more accurate the Field Medical Card or the regimental history? Thanks. Bill White
