    2. I know about the Wakefield as it is the only one I can find which matches the dates that my husband gave. I assumed it must have carried the 1261st Engineer Combat Battalion as well as the others mentioned but If the Queen Mary sailed at about the same time I could have been mistaken. Now I need the sailing dates for the Queen Mary in November of 44. If anyone was in the 1261st Engineer Combat Battalion and remembers the name of the ship , I would appreciate hearing from them.
