And anyone should be humbled to be the presence of a WWII vet today and everyday for that matter. People should stop and think what this world could have been like if it wasn't for the sacrifices of all these men and women. My heart is heavy today thinking of all the loss of life and pain humanity suffered this day. And I am thankful to all of you. Ellis to you and all the other my heartfelt thanks. In the Eyes of Men At boot camp they were wild and full of Fun. Getting ready for job to be done. In the Eyes of Men they were just young. Crossing the Atlantic, they were sea sick and raising some hell. Hoping to come home with wild stories to tell. In the Eyes of men they were just kids. June 6, the men were made ready, That puddle jump made it hard to keep their guns steady. In the Eyes of Men, we feared for their lives. The sounds and the smells, the death and the screams............ It was nothing you could imagine in your wildest dreams. In the Eyes of Men, we saw heart break and anger. A different breed of human, this thing we man. No one does this and gets a slap on the hand. In the Eyes of Men, we saw bravery and courage. With God on our side, and angels at their heels, Some were now in heaven getting their meals. In the Eyes of Men, we saw sorrow and tears. Over that dam wall, and its all for one, Our boys became men, There's a war to be won. In the Eyes of Men, they were All Our Heros. Some sixty years later, some tales are still tall, Unfortunately, the units have now gotten small. In the Eyes of Men, we salute to many for the last time each day. In the Eyes of Men, May we never Forget The Greatest Generation We've Ever Met. Jo Ann
