My dad was drafted in March 1944 and assigned a serial number (AUS). In August 1945, he was given an honorable discharge in order "to accept a commission" in the Medical Administrative Corps of the AUS. The Certificate of Service given to him when he was separated from the service in 1946 shows a completely different serial number. Can someone explain why? Thanks. Daryl Ann
