Our Uncle, James M. Coleman;s, (82nd Airborne, 505.) birthday was on June 7. This is from a letter he wrote home about his birthday and DDay. "It was my thirteenth jump, (counting practice and 2 previous combat jumps), and I thought the Germans really had me this time but it wasn't my unlucky number after all. If anyone had told me how I would celebrate my 22nd birthday I wouldn't have believed it. The Jerry's really threw me a party but it cost them like h___. My thanks to everyone who prayed for me because it was something more than luck that saved me on several occasions. He went from Normandy to the hospital with his 2nd attack of malaria.
