I'm sure, in recent times, inquests have been held in UK in to the untimely deaths of UK citizens abroad. Hello, Surely no matter what for about 100 years there Must have always been some sort of INQUEST inquiry as to how someone died If there was any serious suspicion it was slightly unusual. Otherwise how did we find out that some had committed murder etc in so called active service zones. I would have thought that an inquiry at any level could be deemed to be some form of inquest Even if only in the form of REPORT writings. I remember going to (the Kyrenia area in 1974 northern Cyprus where a BBC journalist Had been killed thought by Turkish fire) to pick his remains up but I was told an inquest was on the cards Just to make sure he had not been killed by any other means. It is surely a form of inquiry which pieces together a story about deaths especially in Relation to the potential awarding of bravery awards. The story of 'courage under fire' although a fictional one must suggest that death in combat Is not always just taken for granted. Its good 'ere i'n it?
