Hiya Nelson, thankyou for your input, may I ask how I would go about obtaining granddad's service record, I have been to Kew and searched through the service records there because Josephs dad also named Joseph Mansfield DRAYCOTT served in the 1st WW it says on his medal card he was in the Liverpool R and the Lab Corps. Also I know there is a site calle the Wardrobe would it be worth me e-mailing someone there and asking if they know of any war diaries that may be of use to me???? Once again thankyou for your help.
