Using the history of my father's WWII unit (mostly a compilation of monthly reports compiled by the communications officer) as a starting point, I’d like to write a history of the unit. I’ve been in contact with a couple of my father’s buddies, but I’d like to be in contact with as many as possible, to interview them, to preserve their memories. I have a roster of the men in the unit – it runs to about 280 names – along with their hometowns as of November 20, 1945. I would like to post the list here in case a reader recognizes a name and would be willing to be in touch with me (it’s a stab in the dark, I realize). Before posting, though, I wanted to ask the group for advice on how to go about it. To post it in one large chunk would result in a huge post – and I’m afraid it would get read. I could break it down into smaller chunks and make several posts, but I don’t want try people’s patience with too many posts. What would the preference of the group be? Thank you for your patience and assistance. For those who are interested: My father, James Early (d. 1998), was a private in the 303rd Airdrome Squadron of the U.S. Army Air Force from 1942-1945.
