I'm trying to find out what unit my father-in-law was in and where he might have been stationed in WWII... his name was Corporal Henry Louis Lairson, 18 013 976, Regular Army, , Sept 1940 to August 2, 1945, Enlistment City, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, Field Artillery, supposedly seperated out to Fort Sam Houston, Bexar County, Texas.... Honorable Discharge.... I am trying to find a copy of his DD-214 ( or what ever they called it then ) ... so I can re-order any medals that he may have received.... St Louis sent me a copy of his Certifcate of Service, but it only gives the basic info that I have above... anyone with info pleas help....I have check with Bexar County, and Nueces County ( supposedly home of record) at their County Clerks office for registered info, but no one seems to know what I'm talking about.......thank you.....Judy Lairson judy_lairson2000@yahoo.com ----- Original Message ----- From: <KathNHNC71@aol.com> To: <WORLDWAR2-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, March 25, 2006 10:22 AM Subject: [WORLD WAR II] Family buries remains of WWII airman discovered on California mountain > > > Family buries remains of WWII airman discovered on California mountain > By PATRICK CONDON > The Associated Press > > > _http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2002888242_frozen25.html_ > (http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2002888242_frozen25.html) > > > ==== WORLDWAR2 Mailing List ==== > To post queries/answers to the list, send an email to: > WORLDWAR2-L@rootsweb.com We are an international list. Hi there: Does anyone know if there is a Canadian equivalent for this kind of info? I am searching for five of my Cdn uncles who served in WWII. They are all deceased now. I don't have their service numbers or anyone left alive that I can ask. One (Alexander Rail - wounded) was with the Canadian Royal Engineers & another (Joseph Rail) was with the 5th Div, 9th Brigade, Highland Light Infantry of Canada I don't know where the other three were. Any help would be VERY gratefully received. Thank you..........Sal ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ----- Original Message ----- From: "Delilah" <diamond6468@mindspring.com> To: <WORLDWAR2-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, March 25, 2006 1:20 PM Subject: [WORLD WAR II] Henry Louis Lairson > U.S. World War II Army Enlistment Records, 1938-1946 Record > about Henry L Lairson > Name: Henry L Lairson > Birth Year: 1922 > Race: White, citizen > Nativity State or Country: Missouri > State: Texas > County or City: Nueces > > Enlistment Date: 19 Nov 1940 > Enlistment State: Texas > Enlistment City: Fort Sam Houston > Branch: Field Artillery > Branch Code: Field Artillery > Grade: Private > Grade Code: Private > Component: Regular Army (including Officers, Nurses, Warrant > Officers, and Enlisted Men) > Source: Civil Life > > Education: 2 years of high school > Civil Occupation: Actor (Motion picture actor. ) or Director, > Motion Picture (Motion picture director.) or Entertainer > Marital Status: Single, without dependents > Height: 69 > Weight: 135 > > ------------------------------------------------------ > Texas Deaths, 1964-98 Record > about Henry Louis Lairson > Name: Henry Louis Lairson > Death Date: 11 December 1979 > Death County: ECTOR > Gender: > > -------------------------------------------------------------- - > Texas Birth Index, 1903-1997 Record > about John Weldon Lairson > Name: John Weldon Lairson > Date of Birth: 16 Dec 1953 > Gender: Male > Birth County: Brazoria > Father's Name: Henry Louis Lairson > Mother's Name: Naomi Ruth Williams > Roll Number: 1953_0009 > > > He apparently married and had a son. > -------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: <jlairson1953@peoplepc.com> > To: <WORLDWAR2-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Saturday, March 25, 2006 12:05 PM > Subject: Re: [WORLD WAR II] Family buries remains of WWII airman discovered > on California mountain > > > | I'm trying to find out what unit my father-in-law was in and where he > might > | have been stationed in WWII... > | his name was Corporal Henry Louis Lairson, 18 013 976, Regular Army, , > Sept > | 1940 to August 2, 1945, Enlistment City, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, Field > | Artillery, supposedly seperated out to Fort Sam Houston, Bexar County, > | Texas....
