Adrienne I also found this page with all of the 1944 Troop Ship crossings from the US with sources of the information, I knew I had seen it somewhere. http://troopships.pier90.org/crossings/1944b.htm it also outlines how the records of ships used to carry troops to their theatres of operations, were destroyed intentionally in 1951.
