Captured in 1864. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Obituary From The Fort Payne Journal, Fort Payne, AL - Wednesday March 23, 1952 JOHN WOOTEN - Funeral services for John M. Wooten, age 103, who died at the residence Saturday in Flat Rock were held Monday morning with the Rev Clarence Rogers, Rev. Harold Mills and Rev. Frank Ryan officiating. Interment was in Payne Chapel cemetery. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Francis Edwards, Flat Rock; Mrs. Pairsilin Smith, Trenton, GA; and Mrs. Sallie Bell Hays, Birmingham; three sons, Jim Wooten, Trenton, GA; Houston Wooten, Chattanooga; and Vance Wooten, Lookout Mountain, Tenn; one brother, Sam Wooten, Flat Rock. Active pallbearers were Scott Tinker, John Tinker, Brady Boatner, Bobby Lance, Hanson Rogers and Oliver Hands. Honorary pallbearers were Walter Austin, W.A. Blain, George Young, O.R.
