Dear Friends, An excerpt from a worn copy of a page from the following book: From TENNESSE COUSINS A History of Tennessee People (date of publication unknown, page number unclear) Coffee County Tennessee "JESSE WOOTEN AND HIS FAMILY OF COFFEE COUNTY, TENNESSEE JESSE WOOTEN, one of the first Justices of the Peace of COFFEE COUNTY, was originally of the lower part of WARREN County, and it is believed a son of William Wooten, who died December 1, 1834 at the age of 90 years and is buried in the Old Blue Springs Primitive Baptist Graveyard in Lower Warren County. These Wootens were related to the Laynes and Mcabees of the same section. W.H. Jonathan and (possibly) Lucy Kempton Wooten were also members of the Jesse-William Wooten family. They came originally from Virginia but came to Tennessee perhaps from down in Georgia. " Della
