Hello Steve - My grandmother - Margie Dickerson Phillips was born in Pelzer, SC in 1915; her mother was Hattie Lelia Wooten; Lelia's parents were Jesse and Emily Wooten- and that was all the information I started with and have spent some time looking for Lelia, Jesse & Emily around Anderson Co. to no avail. Last week I finally found Jesse and Emily in the 1880 Greenville Co Census with their children Jonas b c 1865, George b c 1870, Luther b c 1872, Maggie b c 1875, Lela (Lelia) b July 21, 1877, and Martha b Feb 1880. I believe there are two more children born after 1880, Arthur and Ida (West) listed as surviving in my ggrandmother's obit - Luther was also surviving in 1946 when Lelia died. With this new information, I went thru my WOOTEN file and see an e-mail I printed from the Wooten List and you are looking for a Maggie Wooten b c 1875 with a possible connection to Pelzer. This e-mail is obviously number 3 or so in a thread on the subject so I don't have the original post with the particulars. Could you tell me about your Maggie? Thanks, Donna Roberts Aiken, SC
