Burnwell Pope, Rev. >War Soldier, and Thomas Wootten of Wilkes Co., GA. I have to disagree with this paragraph. Shadrach Wooten, Rev. Soldier of NC, was the son of John Wooten, Sr. of Pitt Co, NC. Yes, there has been some disagreement as to who Shadrach's father was, but if you follow the evidence, I'm convinced it is John. There were a number of Shadrach Wootens in NC, but the Rev soldier was the first one. I think the research that Richard C. Wooton did was quite complete. He wrote a book on the Wootens of York Co, Virginia. I bet he addresses this line in that book. Regards, Jennifer Bell
