Sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees or the trees for the forest or the York County Wooten ancestors while researching in the York County Library as I did yesterday! Imagine how stupid I felt when I came home to find this message!! Ha, ha, ha! I guess I'm "out of the loop" since I am only recently discovering my Wooten heritage. I've been looking and looking, but had no idea there were Wootens here! I think I looked about everywhere else, but I never thought to look in York County! Now, to be fair to myself, I have looked time and again for every ancestor I can think of in every book I can think of and the York County library isn't very big. I've been trying to find the parents of Silas Penix Wooten - Rev. War.-enlisted in Halifax County, VA ---or could it have been NC as he was married in NC? I thought maybe he linked to the Isle of Wight Wootens. Little did I know there were Wootens in York County! So, since I spend a lot of time there, I thought I'd ask to satisfy my curiosity. Maybe I should have been looking closer to home. Anyone know the parents of Silas??? Feeling Like a Dunce in Virginia, Donna P.S. Can you tell me more about the book mentioned?
