I have studied the 6/25/98 message from Sharleen that covered the results of her search of Johnston County, NC records (Wooten). This has been the only message, besides those sent by myself, that mentioned my gg-grandmother Sarah Wooten. The particular references that I am interested in are as follows: 1809 Wm. md. Winifred O'Neal 1812 LW&T Jesse Wooten Children of Jesse Wooten & May Berry: 1. Jesse Jr (not named in father's will) 2. William 3. Sherrod 4. Berry 5. Mary (not named in father's will) 1825 Sarah md. Dan'l. Whitley The last entry in 1825 is the marriage of my gg-grandparents, Daniel R. Whitley b. 1802 in Johnston Co, NC to Sarah Wooten b. 1810 in Johnston Co, NC. I strongly suspect that one of the males mentioned in the 1809 or 1812 entries is the father of Sarah Wooten; I just cannot prove it. Does anyone have any other information on these people that may help me to find a link to Sarah's parents? Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! James C.
