    3. I am looking for information on the following Wootens (or any people possibly related to them), my mother-in-law's family. I am also looking for information on Richens Lacy "Uncle Dick" Wootton who my mother-in-law's grandparents knew and who her grandfather was related to, although the exact connection has been 'lost'. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Jennie Patterson 1 Jonas Wooten* (b. abt 1813, KY); moved his family to MO after 1845 where he served in the cavalry of the Union army. From Missouri he and his family moved to Prairie Township, Wilson Co., KS in 1869. He was married to Nancy Henderson, born abt 1815, Kentucky. Jonas Wooten is listed on the 1870 Federal Census for Fall River Township, Wilson County, KS, page 410. He (age 37) is listed on the 1850 Federal Census for the 15th District of Carroll County, MO, page 008, with his wife Nancy (age 32), and children. Jonas died in 1886 in Wilson Co., KS. Both Jonas and Nancy are buried in Jackson Cemetery, New Albion, KS. Their children were : 2 William Riley Wooten, b. abt 1840, Carter Co., KY. Married Mary Angeline (aka Emaline) Walters. Both are buried in Coyville, KS. 3 George Riley Wooten (1881-1972) married Ophelia Fairchild (1884-1953). Both are buried in Coyville, KS. 2 Mary Margaret Wooten, b. abt 1842, Holt Co., MO 2 William R. Dice, b. abt 1844 (adopted child) 2 George Washington Wooten, b. January 1845, Carter Co., KY. George moved to Kansas with his parents and had one son, Robert, and an adopted son, Ed. 2 Thomas J. Dice, b. abt 1848 (adopted child) 2 Martha A. Wooten, b. abt 1849 2 Andrew Jackson Wooten, b. abt 1850 * The following might be the family of Jonas Wooten, but it has not been confirmed.. Charles Wooten, born about 1775 in North Carolina, “went into KY at an early day from NC and reared a large family.” He married Sally Davis (born about 1775) in about 1797. From this marriage he had the child, Frederick C. Wooten, born about 1798 in South Carolina. In about 1805 Charles married Fannie Smith, who was born about 1790.
