Aaron is listed as a miller in the 1850 Surry County census. They lived in the Silaom district. Sometime around 1854-55 they moved to Hawkins County, TN. Several children had already married and remained in NC. Their daughter, Lucinda, married an Isaac Wooten in 1855 in Hawkins County.(perhaps a cousin?) Both Aaron and Malinda apparently died in Hawkins County, TN. They are both listed in the 1870 census, but only Malinda appears in the 1880 census. I have heard that Malinda was an indentured servant with the Bass family. The story says that Aaron fell in love with her, paid the indenture, and married her. But for this I have no proof.
