This is information that was passed on to me by various kind people, as well as informatioin that I have gathered. My understanding is that Richard and Mary's sons John and Jonathan moved to Iredell. John married Agnes Owens and had sons named Moses, Madison Heath, and Albert, I believe his name was Albert. John died about 1837. Jonathan married Sarah Haynes and had children named Haynes, Richard, James C., and others, as I was told that he had additional children by a different wife. Also, out of curiosity, there was a George Wooton in the 1790 Iredell County census, who was not there in 1800. In the 1800 Surry County census, there is a George and a George Jr, is there a chance that this is the people that were in the 1790 census of Iredell? Also, there is a Henry Wooton that was orphaned in 1811 or 1812 in Iredell. I found him in the Februa! ry 1812 session of Iredell court. I believe that the 1830 census of Iredell had a John with 6 sons. Does anyone know the names of his children? As for my great great grandfather Moses. He married Nancy Whitlock and had children named William, Laura, John, Jesse, Elbert, Thomas, Winona, and Samuel. William was born 1847 and married Elizabeth Patterson. Laura was born about 1848. John was born about 1854. Jesse was born about 1851. Elbert was born about 1858. Thomas Jefferson Wooton was born about 1855 and married Martha Ann Ireland. Winona was born about 1860 and married an unknown Duncan in Gallia County Ohio. Samuel Winfield Wooton was born about 1861 and married Nancy Green. Another question, what became of the Benjamin Wooton landowner of 1782? Is he a descendant of the Benjamin Wooton and Elizabeth Rousseau marriage of a 100 or so years earlier? I have to see to my son, I will fill in more details later when I have my notes at hand. Thanks for reading this.
