Does he have any connection to the family of Benjamin and Amey Hawkins? Benjamin died suddenly on 2 May 1777, and left a non-cupative will that did not name his children. In reading the Prince Edward county court orders--have a long way to go--I discovered that in the November court of 1778, William Wooten was appointed as the guardian for John Hawkins, meaning that John was under 14, or he would have been able to name his own guardian. This is probably the same William Wooten who is listed on the 1787, Prince Edward co tax list A. Thanks for any help.
