He was approximately 7and half years old at the time and was bound to a Samuel Henry, I believe, to learn to make shoes. Ironically, there was a Ransom Wooton born somewhere in NC about 1826 that was a shoemaker who ended up in Indiana. In my family line there was a Ransom Wooten born around 1890. My line goes to a Moses and Nancy Whitlock Wooton from Iredell. Moses was born about 1815 in Iredell County. It is unknown who his parents were. Does anyone know about Henry's parents or who he might have married?
