To any interested Woolsey descendant: Donna Briggs asked "I'm curious about the John Woolsey who md Sarah (Sally). Do you a last name for Sarah? Could it possibly be Constant? Donna, thank you for responding. The John Woolsey and Sarah (Sally) (s/o Sampson Woolsey and Mary Gillette, are probably one generation too early for a Sarah Constant. At least for the Sarah Constant that I have. I have a John Thomas Woolsey, b 1823, TN d 18 May 1891, Tabor, Fremont, Iowa [I don't know his parents]. He is found in the 1860 and 1870 censuses of Fremont county, Iowa. This John Thomas Woolsey married in Auglaize County, Ohio, 18 Jun 1848 to Sarah Ann Constant, b 15 Dec 1826 (Ohio) and died 23 May 1919 in Tabor, Fremont, Iowa. Does anyone know to which of the Tennessee Woolsey this John Thomas Woolsey belongs? By the way, Donna, I found the following in Grayson County, Texas: !CEME: Grayson Co, Texas Cemetery Inscriptions. Mrs. T.E. Henry & Mrs. Sears Anderson, Ft. Worth. 1984. FHL# 976.4557 V3h. - I:124. Woolsey, Minor Jay b 16 Sep 1885 - d 27 Sep 1969 md 1904 Martha Edline Carney in Grandview, Ark. Born in Iowa, s/o Isaac Woolsey. LDS. Woolsey, Martha Addline b 12 Oct 1887 d 30 May 1977 md 1909 Miner J. Woolsey - Baptist, b Grandview, Ark. d/o Walter W. Carney. I thought you may be interested in this brother of Ernest Woolsey, your ancestor. Has anyone located your ancestor William Isaac Woolsey and Rachel Oakley in the census records yet. That would be most helpful. I don't who his parents are, either. I would like to connect both these families to the Woolsey family. Sincerely, Wilford W. Whitaker
