    1. Looking for UR Thoughts
    2. Good Day to all WOOLSEY Researchers: Name here is HOLLIS DON WOOLSEY. It has been several months scenes I posted a note on the list. That post listed the family of William A. and Caroline WOOLSEY of Jackson Co. Ill. 1840 to 1869. I made my first post around the first of this year, looking for info on my great grand parents, John Johnson WOOLSEY and wife Armildia. At that time, Whit graciously did a search in Ill. for any matches for a John. He found none, but very quietly suggested that I look at the above William A. family. Now I do not know if Whit knew something special or just wanted to teach me to play this game of "find the lost stick "(branch)! At any rate, I got into the game pretty well and did a fair job of researching them. I will not repeat that listing now, but would like to add to it. I lost trace of the William A./ Caroline Woolsey family in Ill. at 1869 and with no John there. I have not yet been able to do a line by line search of the 1860 Census in Ill, but could not find anything on the Web for that one. 1870 Census Lynn Twp Cedar Co. Mo. And Sarah's husband Francis Marion VOUGHT died Feb 6 1862 in the Civil War. 1880 Census Denton Co. Tx. Ill. But, the Names, Ages, State of births, and other relative Names are EXACT. Now, to my John Johnson WOOLSEY. Born: March 6 1853 Ill. Married: Sept 8 1873 Lynn Twp Cedar Co. Mo. I also find Armildia's family RUTHs. If I were playing poker, here is where I would increase the money in the pot. FOUR names found in the William A. WOOLSEY family from Jackson Co. Ill are repeated in my John J WOOLSEY family. William, Milton, Caroline, and Lockey. This last name Lockey is very unusual and I do not see it but three times in any of my searches anywhere. The other time I see Lockey is in the family that might be Caroline's parents. That is another story to be worked out. OK group, here is where each of you can put your 2 cents into the $ 64 million question. Is the JOHN in the Mo. family my JOHN? Would like to receive as many thoughts on this as possible, and what more would it take to solidify the connection? Thanks for putting up with such a long post. Hollis D Woolsey
